The museum is located in the capital of Thassos, Limena. It is built near to the ancient Agora. In the museum there are collections of archeological exhibits from the 7th century B.C. until the 7th century D.C.
It is considered as one of the most important provincial museums of Greece. Important exhibits from the Paleolithic until the Romaic period narrate one of the most significant civilizations of Aegean.
In the entrance of the museum there is the really tall Kouros that was intended for the temple of Apollo. Also the visitor can see the different ways of the resident’s life, during different periods of history and admire the civilization of the first residents in the island. There is also some beautiful jewelry of the prehistoric times, while the history of the ancient Olympic champion Theageni, describe the legend and the reality of the Olympic Games.

It is located in the village Potamia and it is dedicated to the famous sculptor Polignoto Bagis (1894-1965), who became famous in America. His works are made with the technique of direct sculpture on different stones. In the museum there are some of his sculptures.

The museum is located in Limenaria, in the centre of the village. There are things of daily use, traditional clothes, photos, ceramic etc. It is open every day, in the afternoon.

This folklore museum is located in the centre of the traditional village Theologos and is accommodated in a two-storied building municipal. The museum is separated in two parts. In the first part (a’ floor) there are exhibits that are relating to the industries of the island. In the second part (b’ floor) there is a representation of a traditional house of Thassos. Open daily, in the morning and in the afternoon.
